(This picture never fails to amuse me)
The prez had his yearly pardoning of turkeys; May and Flower. The veepee wanted to name them “Lunch and Dinner”. (rim shot, please) I find it strange that these two birds were pardoned and then the White House probably has some amazing turkey dinner planned for all involved. A bit ironic don’t you think? Don’t worry foodies…I have not converted to vegetarianism. We just downed a bunch of foie gras in Montreal last week at Au Pied de Cochon. I highly suggest it if you have the chance to go. I guess it is a good thing that I do not have to raise and slaughter my meat stuff…I would for sure convert. But I am all for having one-bad-day meat as chef Naftaly, from Le Gourmand, would call it.
I do not want to get all sappy and such, but I would like to say my “thanks” to everyone who support me this past year. It was just about a year ago that I got the you-have-an-abnormal-pap phone call and the rest is history. Without you all, it might not have gone so smoothly. Thank you.
On a final note, what is your favorite thing (food, memory or tradition) about Thanksgiving? Past or present. Mine is definitely from the days of being able to pack it in with unabashed vigor. LOVE the turkey sandwiches later that Thursday night
