We have seen so much sun in the past couple weeks, I couldn’t resist mentioning it. I even had to start wearing sun screen. I can hear some of you saying already, “BUT WHAT ABOUT YOUR FACE?!! You’re just starting now? UVA rays can get you through your car’s windshield.” Easy. Calm down people. I lived in Tucson for 11 years and I do not want a face that looks like a baseball glove from the times when Sammy Sosa wasn’t juiced. I wear at least SPF 15 on my face every day. It was just that more skin was exposed to the sun than usual. It was sunny and 80 last Tuesday; irresistible. Seattle is a place where people have “dress” fleece for crying our loud and the weather requires a lot of waterproof-breathable gear. The majority of my skin has not seen sun in months. Trust me, one kind of cancer in my lifetime is PLENTY. ¡No más, por favor! Here’s Adjuvant Therapy: Week Two…
1. Full week of radiation under my belt (literally and figuratively).
2. Second dose of Cisplatin proved to be trickier for both veins and stomach, but I still came out ahead.
3. Coached Eastlake girls again…so close for one team…they lost 6-7,6-7 for a state berth.
4. Chemo brain has proven to be beneficial on the tennis court…who needs to think when your reflexes still work!
5. Went to Tutta Bella for the first time…pretty darn good but nothing like taking a train from Roma-Napoli for the sole purpose of pizza off Via Tribunali.(pictures on flickr)
6. Got a hair cut (yes I still have hair and should keep it); first one since before surgery…thank you Sonja Olsen!
